Privacy Policy
How TwitterGifDownloader handles pasted public URLs, third-party lookup and relay requests, advertising consent, local storage, hosting logs, and contact email.
Scope
This policy explains information processing when you use TwitterGifDownloader, its editorial pages, advertising placements, and support email. The service does not require an account and does not operate a user download-history database.
Public post lookups
When you submit a supported public X or Twitter status URL, the browser extracts the public post identifier and requests media information from third-party public lookup services, currently FxTwitter and VxTwitter. Those providers may receive ordinary request information such as IP address, user agent, timestamp, and the requested post path under their own policies.
Media delivery and CORS relays
Available media can be requested from X media hosts such as video.twimg.com or pbs.twimg.com. When a direct browser download is blocked by cross-origin delivery rules, the browser may attempt public CORS relay services, currently AllOrigins and CodeTabs. A relay receives the requested media URL plus ordinary connection data. Do not submit private or sensitive URLs.
Hosting and technical logs
Our hosting provider may process IP address, user agent, requested page, timestamps, and security or error logs needed to deliver and protect the site. We do not use those logs to create a public media library or account profile.
Advertising and consent
The site uses Adsterra placements to fund the service. For visitors identified by browser time zone as being in the EU, EEA, or UK, advertising frames remain unloaded until Accept ads is selected. Declining leaves the downloader available. Time-zone detection is an approximation; browser privacy tools may also block advertising.
Ad partners may process device, network, cookie, local-storage, impression, fraud-prevention, and interaction information according to their policies. Advertising code is sandboxed in separate frames, but third-party processing still applies after loading.
Local storage
The site stores the advertising choice under tgd-ad-consent so it can be respected on later visits. The downloader may place the submitted public URL in the current page query string to make the result state restorable; query-result pages are marked noindex. Clear the field or address query if you do not want it retained in browser history.
If you email support, we receive the address, message, and attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond and protect the service. Do not send credentials, private-session data, or unauthorized media.
Your choices
You can decline advertising where the banner is shown, block third-party content, clear local storage and browser history, or stop using the lookup. Depending on your location, applicable law may provide access, correction, deletion, objection, or other rights for personal data we control. Children and changes
The service is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy when service providers or features change. The revision date identifies the latest substantive update.
